Trust / Editorial standards

Editorial judgment starts where evidence stays visible.

Travistello exists to make travel-product decisions clearer. Editorial work must distinguish verified facts, manufacturer claims, independent observations, and judgment.

01

Evidence standards

  • The exact product variant is identified before specifications are combined.
  • Manufacturer product pages and technical documentation are the first source for identity and published specifications.
  • Claims that require real use are not presented as observed without documented hands-on work.
  • Missing facts remain missing rather than being estimated from a related model.
02

Research labels

Research-based means the assessment is built from documented evidence. Hands-on means Travistello physically evaluated the product under recorded conditions. Hybrid means both forms of evidence contribute.

A research score is not automatically a Travistello Pick. Pick eligibility requires a stronger evidence threshold and remains a separate status.

03

Independence

Affiliate availability, commission rate, merchant preference, gifts, samples, and advertising cannot alter score weights or factual records. Material commercial support must be disclosed where it affects the reader's interpretation.
